Mokelumne River Partners

Mokelumne River Partners was established in 1997 between Mark, his wife Jan and brother-in-law David Burlington. Their goal is to grow top quality Lodi Appellation winegrapes for the premium grape and wine market.

With an original planting of 40 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon the vineyard has now expanded to 180 acres, adding Malbec, Zinfandel and Chardonnay to the mix. All of our vineyards are certified green under the “Lodi Rules for Sustainable Winegrowing”.

The Mokelumne (ma-kuhl-o-mee) River – named after the Native American tribe indigenous to the area, runs just below our vineyards. The river originates in the High Sierra, and over the millennia washed in the deep sandy clay loam soils along its banks that our vines enjoy so much.

Combine that with Lodi’s perfect Mediterranean climate, warm days and cool evenings, and you have the perfect environment for incredible grapes and wines.

In recent vintages MRP began crushing of some of its grapes to sell on the bulk or custom label wine market. These wines will stand on their own, or can be blended with other varieties for superb table wines that can be sold on the domestic or export market.
